JOURNEY OF LIFE

Read More PICTURE YOUR FUTURE

Carry the Vision Before the Journey Begins

LIFE IS A JOURNEY WITHOUT A FINAL BUS STOP. EVERY STAGE PRESENTS NEW OPPORTUNITIES, FRESH CHALLENGES, AND LESSONS THAT SHAPE WHO WE BECOME. THE OBSTACLES WE ENCOUNTER ARE NOT MEANT TO DESTROY US; THEY ARE LIFE'S EXAMINATIONS, TESTING OUR RESILIENCE, PATIENCE, AND DETERMINATION.

ONE OF THE GREATEST LESSONS I HAVE LEARNED IS THE VALUE OF PEACE. SOMETIMES, SAYING "I'M SORRY" EVEN WHEN YOU BELIEVE YOU ARE RIGHT CAN PRESERVE RELATIONSHIPS AND OPEN DOORS THAT PRIDE WOULD PERMANENTLY CLOSE. PEACE IS THE FOUNDATION UPON WHICH LASTING SUCCESS IS BUILT. A WELL-PLANNED FUTURE THRIVES IN AN ATMOSPHERE OF UNITY, HUMILITY, AND UNDERSTANDING.

For nearly twenty years, I had the privilege of serving the late Mr. Andy at Mile 3 Timber Market in Port Harcourt. Those years were far more than employment—they were years of learning, discipline, and personal development. Together, we studied the Bible, Awake!, The Watchtower, and many other educational publications. Those moments taught me that what you invest in your mind today will determine the quality of your tomorrow.

I discovered early that attitude is one of the greatest determinants of success. Knowledge without humility has little value. The higher you rise, the more important it becomes to remain teachable, respectful, and willing to learn from others.

Another turning point in my life came from something many people would consider ordinary. I frequently passed through the campus of Rivers State University on my way to Eagle Island. Those daily journeys stirred something deep within me. Seeing students pursue knowledge ignited a passion for education that continued to grow until it became a personal mission. That environment transformed my thinking and expanded my vision.

I have come to understand that your environment shapes your perception, and your perception influences the direction of your life. When you surround yourself with learning, discipline, and positive influences, your future begins to change long before others notice.

Long before many of my dreams became reality, I carried a picture of my future in my mind. That vision guided my decisions, strengthened my resolve, and inspired me to keep moving forward despite setbacks. I chose to build my future with my daily actions, one step at a time.

If my story teaches anything, it is this: your background does not have to determine your destination. You can choose to dream bigger, learn continuously, and become more than your circumstances suggest.

This is only the first chapter of my journey. There are many more experiences, lessons, victories, and challenges that I will share in future editions. My hope is that each story will encourage someone to believe in the power of vision, perseverance, humility, and purposeful living.

THE PICTURE YOU CARRY IN YOUR MIND TODAY MAY BECOME THE REALITY YOU LIVE TOMORROW.

OKRIKA, ELEME LEADERS HOLD EMERGENCY PEACE MEETING FOLLOWING FRIDAY'S INCIDENT By Tuvanow Media

Port Harcourt, Rivers State — Government officials, security agencies, traditional rulers, and community stakeholders on Saturday convened an emergency peace meeting to address tensions arising from Friday's incident along the Okrika–Eleme axis.
The meeting was held at the office of the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, on Moscow Road, Port Harcourt. In attendance were the Chairmen of Okrika and Eleme Local Government Areas, Hon. Akuro Tobin and Hon. Obarilomate Ollor, senior security officials, traditional rulers, youth representatives, and other key stakeholders.

The meeting focused on reviewing the security situation and identifying practical measures to prevent further escalation of tensions between the neighbouring communities.

Participants emphasized the need for stronger collaboration between security agencies and community leaders, improved intelligence gathering, and sustained dialogue to promote peaceful coexistence.
Stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to preserving peace, protecting lives and property, and maintaining law and order across both local government areas.

They also urged residents to remain calm, avoid actions capable of escalating tensions, and cooperate with security agencies as efforts continue to restore normalcy.

The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, assured all stakeholders of the Police Command's commitment to maintaining peace and security.

He emphasized that security agencies would continue to work closely with community leaders to ensure the safety of residents and prevent any breakdown of law and order.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment by all parties to strengthen dialogue, encourage mutual understanding, and support ongoing peacebuilding efforts in the affected communities.

Tuvanow Media will continue to provide timely, balanced, and factual reports on developments across Rivers State.

BRIDGING THE DIVIDE: URGENT CALL FOR PEACE AS ELEME AND OKRIKA LAND DISPUTE RAISES FRESH CONCERNS.

The recent communal tension between the Eleme and Okrika communities over disputed land has become a source of growing concern in Rivers State. Reports of unrest have heightened fears among residents, with many calling for immediate intervention to prevent further escalation and protect lives and property.

A Brief Historical Background

The Eleme people are one of the indigenous ethnic nationalities in present-day Rivers State, occupying what is now Eleme Local Government Area. The Okrika people, an Ijaw ethnic group, are predominantly found in Okrika Local Government Area and are historically known for their maritime trade, fishing, and rich cultural heritage.

For centuries, both communities have maintained economic and social relationships despite differences over land boundaries and territorial claims. Like many parts of the Niger Delta, questions surrounding ancestral ownership and community boundaries have occasionally led to disagreements.

Notable historical figures connected to the region include King Jaja of Opobo, whose influence extended across the eastern Niger Delta, and Dr. Obi Wali, a renowned nationalist and advocate for justice and peaceful coexistence in Rivers State. Their legacies continue to inspire dialogue, unity, and peaceful resolution of disputes.

A CALL FOR IMMEDIATE ACTION

The renewed tension demands swift and decisive intervention from relevant authorities before the situation deteriorates further.

The Federal Government of Nigeria should work with the Rivers State Government, security agencies, traditional rulers, and community leaders to facilitate dialogue and ensure the protection of lives and property.

The international community, peacebuilding organisations, humanitarian agencies, and development partners are also encouraged to support mediation efforts aimed at achieving a lasting and peaceful resolution.

Religious leaders, youth organisations, women groups, and civil society organisations should continue to encourage restraint, reject violence, and promote peaceful coexistence among the affected communities.

PEACE IS THE  ONLY SUSTAINABLE PATH.

Communal conflicts leave lasting social and economic consequences, destroying lives, disrupting businesses, and slowing development. The people of Eleme and Okrika have far more to gain through peaceful dialogue than through confrontation.

Tuvanow Media urges all parties to remain calm, avoid actions capable of worsening the situation, and allow lawful authorities and respected community leaders to pursue peaceful negotiations.

A lasting solution can only be achieved through dialogue, justice, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to peace.

PEACE REMAINS THE FOUNDATION for SECURITY, UNITY, AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN RIVERS STATE.
